I lost focus

While looking for the pre-cutted squares for this quilt
i found a box of 4-patches and bow-ties sewn together with a brown/beige square. Have now made a lay-out for these.
Will let then rest on the floor for a day or two - cuttet new fabrics for mye triangel-quilt - and hope to finish that one tomorrow.
I also have the mysteriquilt from february loaded on my megaquilter no, and half way quiltet. So this day became a whole day full of quilting, only interrupted by three meals.

I am still in mysteri-modus

Haven't had much time for sewing the last week -
so the few things I have done is to make some more mysteri-blocks

I also finished a small x-mas quilt,

and started a new hand-sewing-project to bring along

Yesterday I went down town to see a internet friend - and we dumped into a big sale at Jordbærstedet
So instead of coming home with only good memories,
and a full bank-accont
I came home with these fabrics - all in 0.5 meter cuts,
except the floral one (1 meter) and the black one for backing (4 meters)

mysteri-quilt

fabrics

step one

step two - if you want a dark quilt - make 9-patches like the one in the middle - with 4 darks and 5 lights
if you want a light quilt make 9-patches with 5 darks and 4 lights

step three
from now one you will get two color choises:
Color choise 1 :

Color choise 2:

step 4

step 5

Clue solved: The original mysteri was for a table-runner with 4 blocks. I made two different color-choises on my blocks , and played with them. If you want to make the setting from the last picture - you will have to finish the blocks - with one more strip of 2",8",2".
I would love to see your pictures.

9-patch swap

I participated in a nine-patch-swap sometimes around 1998. I swapped yellow, neutral and blue 9-patches, together with charms of the two fabrics used. The other day I started to finish one ufo from that swap - made of the charm-squares. I sew 4 of them together , add some batting, turn them rigth sides out, and quilt before I put the pices together. Found out I will need a few more, so i have cutted scraps for 10 more. And here is the quilt I made out of 2 sets of swapped block, together with my own filling-fabrics - the hourglass - blocks in between. I used some of the charms in the border as well

somebody asked

Somebody asked what i was going to make with the green and blue ones i cutted a couple of days ago
Well -here is a photo of the book.

more Easter

During evenings - it becomes some sewing on bindings - here is what i have finished the last few days.

Chicken Potholders - finished , and already given as an Easter-gift

Nice Easter-weather here this year - nice for sewing, but we also managed to have a nice day on ski Friday - The weather changed between snowing, wind and sunshine several times during the 4.5 hours we were outsides.
Today - sunday we are back home, and the weather is like sun on a cloudfree heaven. So maybe i can talk some of the others into a skiing today too. We have had app 30 cm snow the last few days,so everything is white again now.

Easter - sewing time

I got tired of only sewing bindings - so had to start a few new project today. First some potholders for my sister

and a similar pattern is here: http://www.qheartland.com/files/Spring_Chicken_Project.pdf

And I saw a nice quilt on the fromt of a danish book yesterday. Just have to try that pattern - handsewing . Have just started cutting - and finally i found a good use for my hexagon-cutting-templates - which lead me into cleaning up two drawers to find the templates.
