Hidden treasures

For some days now I have been looking around for a project I started earlier this year - to get rid of some scraps. Finally, today I found it - I had hidden the pieces in this colorful box.

All pieces precut, so I just had to start sewing. I just felt like doing some other colors today after all the green pieces lately.

Back in the sewing-room again

With a stormy weather outsides there is not much else to do on a Saturday than sew.
Originally I had other things I should be working on , but this two projects was on my sewing-table. first one is a big 9-patch, other one is Mary's green 4-patch. I am not sure how to join the blocks - have two settings here, another on on my mind - but camera ran out of battery.

Wednesdays are yellow

Yesterday we headed south - to the Røros-area. Had to do some checking on the cabin being built, and after that we went for a walk. And that for sure gave me a lot of extra work. We came hoe around 9:15 p.m bringing 9 KILO's of chantarelle's. They had grown on sand-bottom - so it seems I will have to wash them before preparing them for the freezer. And since the freezer is FULL we have to go out an buy a new one. We have been talking about that for years - but never gone into action before, it always gets more than full in the autumn, with fish, berries, mushrooms etc, and for sure it is too bad not to have the possibility to take care of these goodies. So there will be no sewing today, have to clean a spot for the new freezer, and also finish preparing the last 4 kilos of chantarelle's
And guess I will have the same dream this nigth as last nigth - Yellow Chantarelle's everywhere....
Have a nice day.

A weekend full of fish

This weekend we headed up north - app. 5 hours driving from here to visit with relatives. One of them had a fishing-boad - and took us fishing twice. That was so fun and we got a lot of nice fish - which are now prepared for dinner, resting in my freezer. We had cod today, from the big one I am holding in first photo. Sorry to say- but I did not catch that one. Photo no 3 is the smallest fish i got - had to release that one. And in hte middle of the box is "a holy mackrel"

On our way north we stopped at Bunadsaum in Inderøy , to look for a national costume for DH. He havent decided about it yet- it's pure wool, handmade by tailors, and costs a fortune. Isn't he handsome in this costume?

Tuesday's maybe red

Or pink or yellow or orange - I don't know for sure. Only thing I know is I finally finished this top

Monday's might be blue

Just like this quilt - Monday's might be blue. This one is made of some leftover bow-tie-blocks, a lot of 4-patches made from my precutted scraps, and some tan 6.5" fabrics from a swap. So now I just wonder - what will be the color of tomorrow?

Today was green

This morning - before I had to go to work I joined some pieces from my green box. Insired by Bonnie Hunters many scrap-quilts, and Mary's green quilt

And now - late afternoon, I have prepared some more blocks for my pink/green quilt, only two more needs to be made up. after that I am ready to start putting the blocks together

Friday we all went to Surnadal - to pick up DD2 at a summercamp for TaeKwon-Do
And we had dinner together with Ildri and Hanne and her family afterwards.

Yesterday I met with a quilt-buddie from sweeden

Huff da

First I once again have to show my favorite flowers, just like I remember them from my grandmothers garden

Sorry to say - I fell off the waggon again, on my way home yesterday I dropped into the quiltshop to take a photo, and when I was on my way out again, my eyes spottet a basket full of scrap-bags. Some of them really cheap and very interesting. So 5 of those came home with me - 2.7 kilos of fabric, that should be app 25 meters. They are now all washed, and ironed and some are cut int proper widths for my scrap-boxes, a lot of greens are in one bag - waiting to be a table-runner - something like the hen-tablecloth.

And here is my mysteri-quilt - waiting for it's binding-fabric to come from Denmark -Thanks Anna Marie for helping me. And the batic'quilt, waiting for some more borders.

Markens grøde

Today we went for a walk in the forrest - which resultet in 1.5 kg wild raspberries, 1.5 kg bluberries, and some mushrooms.

I dag ble det tur i skogen med følgende resultat - 1.5 kg villbringebær, samme mengde blåbær og litt kantareller

I also sewed a little bit, joined all the blocks in the mysteri-quilt, and started to put borders on my batic-work.

Todays work

I started really early today - much to early, and got too tired for the rest of the day. Any way - couldn't find the UFO I was going to work on, so did a few stitches on two old ones, the mysteriquilt and the red/purple/yellow batic-quilt. All the blocks are joined now, and the borders cut redy for the next step tomorrow morning maybe.

This afternoon - while listenig to Jan Werner at TV I finished the binding on this tablecloth for our kitchen-table.

Getting closer

Eva just tougth me to get closer - expecially when taking photos. She took this ones with my camera on a trip to the forest last Sunday

This quilt is also getting one step closer to its finish - second set of blocks done.

And here is a bunch of quilts that are really close to it's finish.
Just needs their bindings.

Happy shopping

This last week I must admit - I have been doing some shopping. Last Saturday I took the train 2.5 hours north to Steinkjer to visit Wenche and Northern Quilts. The first picture shows Wenche and me, the other one my friend from Namsos and me . We met in Steinkjer, and had a very nice trip back to Trondheim.

At Wenche's shop I found these nice fabrics, some thread and a big piece of batting, and yes - a japanese book.

Next to Wenche's shop there is a bookstore, I went inside while waiting for Wenche to open her shop, and downstairs I spotted some fabrics . So had to check that one too - a few patterns, some pearls and a hanger fell into my shopping-bag

This last "few" fabrics fell into my bag last friday , when I met another Norw. quilter at Jordbærstedet It's kind of getting expencive to meet all this quilters at the quilt shops. But I really did good when Hanne and Sigrun visited some weeks ago.
