Surprise in the mailbox yesterday

look at what I found when home from work yesterday. And it smells good too - lavender I think. I suppose it came from this lady. Thanks a lot May-Britt!

These last days I have been in a vacuum - since I finished the big BOM a few days ago. Looked through my UFO's - and decidet to do a little bit on three of them every week. So far I have worked on the fishy placemats, now one out of four is finished.

And the angle-BOM applique has got her three strands of thread every day since sunday.

The apple girls just lack a few details,
such as hair, red cheeks, and a few buttons to be sewn on...

So please everybody - help me stay focused on these ones until at least two of them is finished.

Yesterday a worked a little bit further on my new BOM - Whoopsie daisy from a designer called Thrish from Australia. I had drawn a lot of pices last week , and managed to cut and glue the first six blocks yesterday. I bougth mine at Siw's shop here in Trondheim, the most lovely quilt shop owner I have met.

Stashbusting quilt finished

I just finished this one yesterday. It was a really stashbusting quilt. Fabrics from top where scraps app 6" wide, except the border fabric. Batting - two layers of cotton-batting took the rest of the roll. Quilting thread - two bobbins winded a couple of years ago, goog to have the bobbins empty again.
Backing - bougth on sale, was supposed to be the backing of my stripe quilt , but too small.

And this morning I finished the tops for the green pillows

Green pillows

The green pillows have now been putted a little step forward. All my pins are in the binding of two quilts, so i have to do some sewing on that one to get the pins out to use for the pillows. So i just machine-piced the rows i had pins for - and here is the result.
Hope to pin some more later tonigth.
This morning i did some painting on DH's new shield, and also around a few windows, before i had to clean up an get ready for work. (yes i know it is saturday) Lucky me i finished early today, so got some time for sewing. Tomorrow i also have to work, but don't know when yet. Just know i have to be prepared to leave home in short notice - so I can't start and big projects , or go for a long walk.

A few days ago my DD took a few pictures of me and some of my UFO's

It's been a while.

And I have done a lot of other things than quilting. But a few days ago DH went back to work, kids to their father - so now the evenings is just mine.

I am working on a baby-quilt and my sisters quilt - both just need handsewing the binding.

Solveig wanted to sew a few days ago, so we have spendt two evenings down here having a very nice time. She selected fabrics, and pattern, spray-basted the fabrics and quilted. I putted the zipper in, and she helpet with the rest. Unfornately i do not have a picture of her new pencil house - school starts on monday so she brougth it with her to her fathers house.
Here she is - concentrating on the quilting

I just had to do it! / Æ bare mått!

Since I finished two UFO's yesterday I just had to start a new one today. So I have tested out my newly repaired machine on some appliqué, and made a little progress on the red/yellow quilt, and also made the first blocks of a black and white one that have been waiting for a looooooooooong time to get started.

Another finish

Just finished this one, as I was still in the UFO-finishing-mode.
On the designer-wall picture further down this page, this bag is quilted, and stored in a plastic-bag- underneath teh red/yellow block. Now the zipper is in, handle on and all sewn together in less than an hour - why didn't I do this earlier. Wonder what's next - should I finish another UFO, or am I permitted to start the BOM I purcased yesterday?
Or should I start one of the three quilts for my nieces and nephew that has to be redy for mai 1.st next year? One of them is already cutted.

Tuesday - still in vacation-mode

Finally - after two years of beeing an Ufo - I finished this bag for an old Aunt today. Started around 8 with the quilting, and now at 2 p.m the handles and buttons are in - it just feels so good to finish an oldie like this one.

Here is DH in front of his new shield - also called "gutterommet" (boy's room)
I am going out to paint the last wall and the door now, just had to add some photos here first.

Think I forgot to show you the pillow I made out of the leftovers from the blue stripe quilt. Here it is, and quite big - the inner pillow is app 18"

By the way - forgot to tell you - I started the green and black pillows yesterday - with HST's. A nice puzzle to work on.

And here is a picture of my "designer wall" rigth now. I also have been quilting apples around the border of the apple-girls-quilt today, so it is ready for binding.

Blog is kidding me

He won't let me put in a picture of my youngest daugther with her newly picked Kantareller. So I just had to create a new post to make it do.Maybe anybody knows - is 6 pictures the most you can have in one post?

Cut up days

Well the last few days i have been cutting some fabrics for two new projects
First I sewed a lot of black/green HST's and then cutted some more black fabric for that one - supposed to be pillows.
Yesterday I brougth with me my cutting equipment out in the garden, had to help DH a bit now and then, so I cutted fabrics in between. Yellow and red ones - inspired by Hanne's but I am going to use a different pattern. Changed the blade of my rotary cutter this morning, and have cutted up the rest of the yellow ones while loading photos into my blog today.

As soon as may youngest wakes up I will go and buy aome paint for the shield, and a rain-jacket and -trousers for her.

The sun hasn't wake up here yet, but I bet she'll be here soon.

Berries

The last few days we have had lovely weather. Yesterday 26 deg C - so we packed the car with swimming-equipments, rubber-boots, lots of frozen water, a lot of salad ingrediens and went off to my parents cabin. Stopped by the lake for a swim before we rowed over to the cabin. Kids kept swinning for app 1.5 hours (some girls got a little bit dirty thou), then salad for dinner, more swimming and we went back home about nine in the evening. Bringing with us some kilos of cloudberries (Multe) that my parent had picked earlier the same day.

Today - I started with a headace - so I decided not to go swinning today. Instead we picked wild raspberries for breakfast. Went for a walk inthe forest rigth after breakfast , and brougth with us home as much mushrooms (Kantareller) as we could carry after 1/2 hour. Then went to library and also did some shopping. Sendt the two oldest girls off to my parent to pick peas and strawberries. Solveig picked wild strawberries here near the house. And now we have just returned from the forest again, - this time with a little bit of blueberries.

DH is still building on his shield, it is 9.p.m so I hope to get him in soon. Ups- my parents just arriwed, maybe they would like to have some ice-cream and strawberries together with us. Have to go - more later
