Sunday morning in Oslo

Last night I took some snapshots of the cat,
playing around "on the table" which it is not allowed to do.

This morning I also finished applique on my new tablerunner
- what is left now is a little bit of embroidery and some quilting.

some travelling, and 2 new bags

I am now near Oslo, 560 km south of where I live. I have been here for almost a week now, taking a computer-class at IBM's. I lived with a quilt-friend the first 5 days, and she surprised me with a new bag. I started it many years ago - but it never got finished. This last evenings have been mostly UFO-finishing, but unfornately not for me.

The other bag Hanne - another quiltfriend of mine, almost finshed for me - I just have to make and put on some handels.

I also started a new table-runner - still have some applique to do on this one.
So now I am going to spend the rest of the weekend at Hanne's before I return to Trondheim tomorrow evening.

I also promised some pictures from the charity-quilt-evening

my Australian quilt is done

Finally I puttet the last stitches to my Australian quilt today. All made of scraps - and my quiltbuddy made a simliar one, also from my scraps. We only bougth backing, borders and bindings. Had this one professionally quilted by Anita at AKD - she does pretty work.

So for a week now I have been working on the binding, and have also added some more embroidery around the scarecrow, after the picture was taken - had to do that earlier today - when there was enough ligt outsides.

Jippi - 2 pillows finished

Autumn colors

We are just back from a trip to my parents cabin. Had to show you the nice autumn colors, and all the mushrooms we got this time.

Inspiration is back

After a lot of thinking about what to do with these stitcheries - I saw a picture of a pillow - and that made me do something about mine too. These two will be pillows, so the last few days I have been cutting and sewing small squares to the sides of the stitchery-panels.

The blue one even got a piced backing - made me use up all the cutted blue squares, and made a 30cm enough fabric for the back.

Autumn is here

Autumn is here. This lovely flowers were bougth in Molde last weekend,
and are still shining up my living-room.

This weekend we had a lot of fog in the mornings, but saturday we agreed
on going on a trip into the deep forests of Skaun anyway. Found a lot of
different mushrooms, the pictures show a lot of the ones we did not pick
- because I do not know wheter they are good to eat or will poison us.

We also got some Kantareller of two different sorts - the yellow ones
are already in the freezer, the darker ones are on my counter waiting to
dry. When we came home we also made a good soup with some mushrooms and
bacon in it. mmmmmmmm.

Saturday evening we tried to make springrolls - and my parents and son
came over for dinner.
I also did a little sewing, and came one step forward, and two steps
backward on my green quilts. Had to undo the quilting on the tablecloth
- it went bulky.

A very nice weekend

Last weekend my youngest daugther and I had a nice trip down to Bergen by plane, and back home by the costal steamer Trollfjord. After a nice warm afternoon of sigthseeing in Bergen, we boarded the costal steamer in the evening.

Next day in Ålesund - a very white town, with a
lot of Jugend-style houses, since the whole town burned down in 1912. We
had three hours in good company with three quilt-ladies there. Did some
sigthseeing, and had a very nice lunch in a cafe.

Further north, the city of Molde - with Seilet - the new hotel.
And the next morning back in hometown Trondheim,
the boat was in at 6.a.m but did'n leave until 12., so we had a nice
long breakfast before we went home.
