I went to a quiltshow today

I went to a Quiltshow today - Vikhammer Quiltelag celebraiting their 10 years anniversary. Lots of nice quilts, lots of inspiration to get, lots of good cakes to eat, and lots of very nice ladies to talk to. When I was almost done - the last quilt-shop showed up (Siw's quiltegården) and I just HAD TO buy some fabrics... - but unlikely most of the shopping I do - I really have a plan for these.

New projects

Last week I picked up my next stitchery from stitchery-klubben at Jordbærstedet. Couldn't wait - so I started stitching same evening. Don't know what it's going to be yet.

I found some green pre-cut tumbles in my drawer the other day - they are now sewn together - only two of them left that couldn't fit in.

And while I was going to put away a newly washed fabric - my eyes spotted a kit I cutted in July - so brougth it out, sewed some of them together, played around and got this far.

Now I am off to se a quilt show - Vikhamar Quiltelag is celebraiting their first 10 years today and tomorrow.

Leannes - again

I have now uploaded all the pictures I took at Leannes trunkshow here in Trondheim - into my webshot. There are also some quilts that the customers of Quiltegården made - If you know who made these - please tell med so I can put correct names on the pictures

More pictures from Leannes trunkshow

I really love the scrap-books she has made to some of her quilts - containing all the used fabrics, threads, inspirations and other tougths, and lots of nice pictures.
And not to forget - the label on back of one of the quilts - for future generations to know the prices of bread, petrol, stamps etc on the time the quilt was made.

If you would like to se Leannes own blog - here it is.
And two of her other Norwegian fans also have their own blog's: Hanne and May-Britt

Busy evenings

This week all the evenings seems to be busy - but today I managed to finish two small items - A small purse/ cosmetic bag - pattern from AnnAKa
And a wallhanging form Disa Designs christmas booklet.
Last week I also made a placemat from the same book, - but that one I forgot to take a picture of before it left home. Well now I have got a picture - from the shop where it is on display:

Christmas is coming closer

Class inspiration

After the class I gave last week I just had to start another quilt in the same pattern. I have tried out two different backgrounds for the same blocks.

October progress

Birthday-gift finished and sendt off yesterday

Inside of bag

Did some clean-up in my box of embroidery-floss

Second out of three stitcheries finished.

Preparing for mounting first stitchery

And first block out of three finished - only lacks some embellisments - which have to wait until after quilting.

On the snowman collector i have made all 16 threes, cutted fabric for borders, and appliqued 5 out of 19 letters

No sewing yesterday

Yesterday I had some errands to do, and did start prepare the garden for the winter. We had a lovely weather - so had to take advantage of that. Look what I found outsides - and it is October! First picture taken on sunday - in front of my house

Second one Tuesday - same three - poor little thing - lost all it's leaves.

A very few flowers still alive.

And Stravberries - wild ones - and the were really sweet and much bigger than I ever saw them before.

In the evening I gave a quilt class - here is my model:

So I supposed most of the ladies wanted this color combination too - but look what happened:

This is only half of them - and only one made it in red. I look forward to meet them next time and look how this journey goes on. Hopefully I will remember to bring my camera then too.

Projects for October

Inspired from Hanne I have noe digged out 5 projects to work on in October.
I have the same old snowman collector as her to work on,

some stitcheries

one quilt to be quilted - this one
one new project - a birthday-gift - secret one....

and the brown x-mas quilt.

Just started a few hours ago - so now I have gotten the snowmen out of the drawer and started to cut borders for them, and letters, and made one tree (out of 15)

Bag-sewing weekend

I took a class this weekend , and made two bags. The first one is the biggest and most complicated one. I used the whole saturday to make all the pockets for that one - stitchery was made long ago. And the teacher was Anne Pia Godske Rasmussen from Denmark. She is a very good teacher, and I think all we ladies (19 of us) learned a lot.
